"Neptune" and sea drones: The Navy named the key factors of a war fracture at sea
In an interview with the Armyinform, the Commander of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in an interview with the Armyinform, spoke about revolutionary achievements, including the use of Marine Drones-Kamikadze and modernized Neptune missile systems. Within two years since the full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian forces have been deprived of the dominance of the enemy in the Black Sea. "This is the fruitful work of all the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The first such successful experience was the use of the Neptune missile system. And then during the joint operation of the Navy and the SBU, we used the Marine Dron-Kamikadze, which entered the Sevastopol Bay. No one has done this so far, "Vice Admiral explained. According to her Zhpapa, the new version of Neptune exceeds the previous technical characteristics. The main areas of modernization were the increase in the range and accuracy of rockets.
"We entered the elite club that produces winged rockets. After we drove Moscow, the Navy of the Armed Forces received even a championship at this club," the commander stressed. She also noted the role of marine drones in changing the balance of forces on the water. They became the instrument that made the course of war in the Black Sea. Their application not only to expand the opportunities for the enemy, but also to minimize the risks for personnel.
Moreover, naval drones not only acted as Dronov-Kamikadze, but also became a platform for other weapons. "Sea drones are a revolutionary path, but not a panacea of war at sea. Of course, they are dangerous for the enemy, but they also prepare something like that to strike us. The enemy already has some developments, but the war is ongoing, we also improve our own technologies, " - explained Viceadmiral.
Another significant element in the task of harming the enemy's marine forces was the use of high -precision cruise missiles Storm Shadow and Scalp. Thus, we can talk about the fruitful cooperation of the Navy and the Air Force of the Armed Forces, which resulted in the first time to deprive the enemy of the opportunity to act in the western part of the Black Sea, and then to force him to remove the fleet from Sevastopol. A similar situation has occurred for the Russians and in the Azov Sea.
Thus, the successes of Ukraine at sea confirm the transition to a qualitatively new level of fighting, in particular due to innovations in equipment and international cooperation.
