Increasing mobilization in Ukraine: from what age can be forcibly called to the Armed Forces

The conscript age has been reduced in Ukraine, and citizens will serve basic military service from 18 to 25 years. It will last five months in peacetime and three in military. During the mobilization in Ukraine, summons can be handed over to all military citizens from 18 to 60 years. In addition, on May 18, the new law on mobilization "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Certain Issues of Military Service, Mobilization and Military Accounting" came into force. The document proposes a number of changes in the conscription process, namely the introduction of basic military training in higher education institutions since 2025, several categories of citizens are released from its passage.

Moreover, instead of conscript service, Ukrainians will pass the basic military service for five months in peacetime and three in the military. Men from the age of 18 will be able to choose the time of passing basic military service. In addition, regardless of the passage of basic military training or service, Ukrainians will receive a deferral from mobilization from 18 to 25 years.
