Pose a threat to air defense: What are new ShahED-238 dangerous for Ukraine (video)

Experts say that although new Iranian drones will be an additional load for the air defense forces, the installation of an ineffective gas turbine engine in them can reduce the potential threat of Shahd-238. New unmanned aerial vehicles Shahd-238, which have recently been presented in Iran, can "bypass" air defense systems thanks to their technical characteristics. This opinion was expressed by aviation expert Konstantin Krivolap in the comment "Channel 24".

He explained that modified drones have three different directions: autonomous, radar and infrared. The establishment of a radar station can indeed be a threat to Ukraine's air defense systems, the expert said. It should be noted that Iran also plans to install an ineffective and complex gas turbine engine in Shahd-238 unmanned aerial vehicles. However, the expert doubts that these new drones will soon get to Russia and use it against Ukraine.

He noted that the previous components and fuselages sent to Iran to Moscow were damaged, which caused delays in the production of Shahd unmanned aerial vehicles. So, it is unknown now what will happen this time. A few days earlier, the Ashura Aechura University in Iran presented a Shahd-238 jet Dron-Kamikadze. In essence, a new series of a drone is a modification of the famous shock UAV Shahd-136.

These developments have shown the supreme leader of Ayatolli Ali Hamenei at the University of Tehran, where he got acquainted with the latest achievements of the Aerospace Forces of the Corps of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution. In addition to the classic variant with the autonomous guidance system and GPS signals, there are options with infrared/optical and probably a radar guide, writes "militaristic".

The version with the infrared/optical guidance system (with red lens) can be used to defeat heat contrast purposes, in particular, important military equipment in the rear of the enemy. This drone can be analogous to radar missiles, which are led by search radar stations (radar). Such a remedy can be useful for neutralization and breakthrough of enemy air defense systems. Fuselage of all three drones have an uncharacteristic for Iranian UAVs black.

This may be due to the use of radio absorbing materials, but there is no evidence yet. The exact technical characteristics of the ShahED-238 remain unknown. It should be noted that new drones have gained constructive changes compared to the recently shown reactive Shahd-136, in which the optics module is attached in the nasal part under the fuselage.
