Consequences of mobilization in the Russian Federation: labor deficit in the industrial sector reached 42%

Intelligence of Britain reported that in Russia it is planned to recruit 420 thousand contractors by the end of the year. The call to the army in the Russian Federation continues to have a negative impact on the labor market in all sectors of economy not related to the defense complex. The plans of the Russian authorities include the recruitment of 420,000 new contractors by the end of this year.

This is stated in the report of the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense, published on the social platform X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, September 11. "The lack of labor in the Russian industry reached a new maximum of 42% in July 2023. The deficit increased by 7% compared to April of this year," the intelligence message said.

The report is also reference to the deputy chairman of the Russian Council Dmitry Medvedev, which as of September 3, 2023, 280 thousand people have already been mobilized in Russia. Intelligence notes that she could not carry out an independent evaluation of these figures. The report also emphasizes the acute shortage of employees in the IT industry after about 100,000 specialists or 10% of skilled labor in this sector left Russia last year.

After that, Russia tries to keep the "result", giving them a reservation from mobilization and other social benefits. In intelligence, Britain suggests that on the eve of the presidential election in March 2024, the authorities may refuse to carry out further mobilization, which forces military personnel to look for ways to escape from the country. According to various estimates of the Armed Forces Command, the Kremlin can mobilize from 400 to 700 thousand people.
