"We know it": France stated that the panic on bugs in Paris is involved

Panper moods in France on the invasion of bugs, which were observed in the fall of 2023, were artificially strengthened by the Russian misinformation campaign. This was stated by the Minister of European Affairs Jean-Noel Barro, Reuters reports.

According to the Minister, related to the Kremlin accounts on social networks, "largely" increased panic, and created a false connection between the arrival of Ukrainian refugees and the spread of bugs. At the same time, when asked whether the government considers that the Russians organized "panic about insect invasion, Barro replied that the Russian misinformation campaign only" exacerbated "the existing panic in order to sow a sense of insecurity.

The Minister also noted that during a full -scale war in Ukraine cyberattacks and misinformation campaigns were intensified. "We know this thanks to the Viginum service created in 2021, the mission of which is to identify such maneuvers aimed at destabilizing public opinion in France and weakening Ukraine's public support," Barro said.
