Russia is expanding the geography of participants in the Eurasian Security System, - ISW

The Russian Federation wants to create its own "Eurasian security system" with the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Southeast Asia and the Persian Gulf. Also, in ISW, Putin views Vietnam in this role. More than a month ago, on June 14, the Kremlin head Vladimir Putin proposed to create an alternative to the Eurasian Security System with the support of the President of the China Czinpin and Russian officials are already working on expanding its geography.

This is written in his report by the American "Institute of War" (ISW).

During a press conference in the United Nations, on July 17, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Russia and China would be in the creation of "Eurasian Security Architecture" as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCS), the Association of Southeast Asia (ASEAN) and Council of Cooperation of the Persian Gulf (Economic Union, which includes Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Saudi Arabia).

That is, the analysts of ISW, Russia seems to be considering the Gulf countries as potential participants in this "security system". In addition, Putin himself recently emphasized that the Russian Federation is ready to discuss Eurasian security issues with the SCO and that the Russian Federation wants to develop a dialogue with ASEAN.
