According to the head of the defense department of the Republic of Slavyanka Petrovsk, the resource of aircraft has long ended, but the Ukrainian military will be able to put them into action. The Government of Northern Macedonia has decided to transfer 12 Mi-24 helicopters free of charge to Ukraine. This was reported on March 29 by local TV channel 360 Stepeni.

The Minister of Defense of Northern Macedonia Slavyanka Petrovskaya said that these helicopters earlier, in 2001, were purchased in Ukraine. 8 years ago, their resource ended, they are not used due to the lack of spare parts. "Some of them were upgraded - that is, two, but this modernization was adapted to those conditions then and absolutely does not correspond to what is needed now, even if we want to talk about technology development," Petrovskaya said.

As reported by the media on March 24, modernized helicopters have received a new avionic that allows the use of night vision glasses, as well as a system of night vision of Aviators. According to the head of the defense department, combat helicopters are needed by the Ukrainian army for various operations and hostilities in modern conditions. The Ministry of Defense of Northern Macedonia is convinced that Kiev has the opportunity to put them into action.

At the same time, the Ministry of Defense will acquire new multi -purpose helicopters, which will play mainly a transport rather than a combat role. Five proposals were received from different countries and companies, and are currently evaluated by a comprehensive project group, which in April has to report to the Minister. We will remind, on March 30, a spokesman for the Air Force of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat said that Ukrainian pilots daily perform combat missions on Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters.
