Russia does not plan to strike a nuclear strike in Ukraine - Ambassador (video)

According to the Russian ambassador in the United Kingdom, Andrei Kelin, there are two conditions under which the Kremlin can resort to nuclear weapons. The Russian Federation does not plan to use nuclear weapons during the current war with Ukraine. This was stated by Russian ambassador to the UK Andriy Cellein in an interview with LBC radio station.

The Russian diplomat claims that now the Russian-Ukrainian war does not fall under the criteria provided for the nuclear doctrine of the Russian Federation. "In this conflict - no. We have a doctrine that clearly states when nuclear weapons can be used - in the case of nuclear attack on Russia or if the conventional attack is so serious that the existence of our state will be in danger," Kellin said.

We will remind that on February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin made a message to the Federal Assembly, which declared suspension of participation of the Russian Federation in the contract with the United States on strategic offensive weapons (DSU). A day later, the State Duma of Russia voted for the adoption of the relevant law.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation claims that Moscow will continue to comply with the quantitative restrictions specified in the agreement, as well as to report the United States about the launchers of the IBB and BRPC.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called the statement of the President of the Russian Federation to suspend participation in the DSU "deeply unsuccessful and irresponsible", and in the EU urged Russia to promote the work of inspection in the Russian territory within the framework of the rules of the treaty.
