Due to the last attack on DTEK's energy, he lost almost half of his capacities

As a result of the morning massive shelling of Ukraine's energy system, DTEK has lost almost half of its generating capacity. This was stated by DTEK Executive Director Dmitry Sakharuk. He said that as a result of the last attack, thermal generation was badly damaged, and two DTEK stations were significantly destroyed. "We have lost almost half of energy capacity. This is essentially the consequences of today's attack," Sakharuk explained.

He added that the destruction of energy objects is so large -scale that they are estimated at billions of hryvnias and Ukrainian power companies will not be able to recover on their own. "This requires the help of an external and European energy recovery fund and USAID. A fruitful coordination with the Ministry of Energy is needed to quickly find out all damage, to place orders for equipment and to seek help, because it is very large scale," - said Saharuk.

He also added that the equipment that has been damaged is produced under the order and only prompt placement of ordering and helping partners can allow you to quickly restore the destroyed equipment. We will remind, on March 22 Russia caused a massive attack on energy infrastructure of Ukraine. As a result, there were significant damage to the equipment, and the operator of the Ukrenergo power system was forced to use emergency shutdowns of electricity in some regions of Ukraine.
