Self -propelled howitzers that the Armed Forces handed over Germany failed: what happened

German journalists found that the equipment did not withstand intensive operation on the front, and the repair was complicated by the fact that there were no necessary details for the repair of German howitzers in Ukraine. Part of the self-propelled howitzers, which Germany provided within the framework of military and technical assistance to Ukraine, failed.

The repair of equipment is complicated by the fact that in our country it is difficult to find the right details for this technique, Spiegel writes. The publication writes that after delivery of 14 self -propelled howitzers of the Ministry of Defense could not order large packages of spare spare parts in a timely manner to regularly repair weapons and maintain them in working order.

Therefore, most of the artillery systems supplied by Germany require repair in connection with intensive operation on the front since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia into the territory of Ukraine. However, six German howitzers have recently brought to Lithuania for technical repair. However, since the necessary spare parts for howitzers were neither in industry nor in the Bundeswehr, the technicians had to disassemble one of the howitzers and leave it for a while in Lithuania.

It is a German self -propelled artillery installation, which is equipped with a 155 mm gun 52 calibers. Weapons also have a navigation system, an automated fire control system, a manual charging system with 60 shells. PZH 2000 can produce three shells in nine seconds or ten in 56 seconds up to 30 km. Recall that a third of German howitzers PZH 2000 in Ukraine needs repair.
