Russia collects new Su-30cm fighters for the Air Force Belarus: What is known

In general, the Belarusian Air Force had to get a squadron of 12 aircraft, and the first party of four cars was put in 2019. However, with the second party there were difficulties. During the visit to the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko demonstrated the drafting of fighters for the Belarusian Air Force on June 5. The information plate near the fuselage of the aircraft was indicated by SU-30CM2, according to the Belaruski Gayun monitoring group.

SU-30CM2 is a modernized version of the SU-30CM, equipped with a new all-rise onboard radar "Irbis-e", a complex of means of radio electronic wrestling, engines AL-41F1C (from Su-35C fighter) and other improvements. The new model also has expanded the nomenclature of high -precision weapons, including hypersonic. The aircraft weapons management system provides the possibility of using a long range of R-37M aircraft missiles, which are also used by Russian Su-30CM2.

The publication emphasizes that the purchase of Su-30cm fighters for the Belarusian Air Force has been declared repeatedly. The contract for the supply of the first Su-30cm fighter jets was signed in 2017, and in November 2019 the 61st Fighter Air Base in Baranovichi received four aircraft. In general, it was planned to buy a squadron of twelve aircraft. However, with the second party Su-30cm, there were difficulties.

From 2020 to 2024, officials of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus have repeatedly declared plans for the purchase and supply of new fighters, but this has not happened yet. According to the latest public statements, the Belarusian Air Force should still receive some Su-30cm in 2024. In the future, the supply of Su-30cm2 will begin, which are currently gathering in Irkutsk.

It was also stated that there was no official information on the transfer of fighters of the SU-30CM2 of the Belarussian Air Force. "Given the delay in the second party of the Su-30cm of the Belarusian Air Force, we can expect that the first Su-30 cm2 will be delivered in 2025-2026," the observers suggested, specifying at the same time that the main fighter of the Belarus Air Force remains the MIG-29.
