Air defense systems, drones and artillery: what kind of military assistance Ukraine will receive from Germany by the end of the year

Germany will provide IRIS-T anti-aircraft complexes, PZH-2000 and Zuzana 2, as well as about 30 LOOPARD 1A5 tanks and other weapons. Germany has announced a significant military assistance package for Ukraine, which contains weapons and equipment scheduled for transfer by the end of 2024. It became known with an interview with Major General Bundeswehr Christian Freuding.

Among the key military equipment that will be provided by the end of the year - air defense systems, as well as artillery systems, small arms, drones, tanks and armored vehicles. According to Freuding, by the end of the year it is planned to put two batteries of Medium-range IRIS-T SLM and two small-range IRIS-T SLS. In addition, 10 self-propelled Gepard anti-aircraft installations will be sent, equipped with two 35 mm guns.

In addition to air defense systems, about 30 LEOPARD 1A5 tanks are expected to be supplied, which are currently being restored by Rheinmetall specialists. 400 MRAP armored vehicles will also be transferred. Artillery systems will be shipped in the form of 12 tracked self-propelled PZH-2000 self-propelled installations and four Zuzana SAU wheeled. . In addition, the assistance list includes an indefinite number of small arms, ammunition, logistics, field hospital and other means.
