The decision to exchange was made the day after the court's sentence, which Kryshtop for violation of the laws and customs of war was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Neither the Krishtop nor his lawyer appeared at the court hearing on the release of punishment, submitting a statement about the case without their participation. The convicted confirmed that he agreed with the request of the prosecutor because it was an exchange. Until recently, Kryshtop was kept in the Kiev Detention Center.
He was also in the Kharkiv pre -trial detention center. Waiting for the sentence, the Russian spent almost a year in Ukrainian places of imprisonment in Ukrainian places.
