A strong drought helped to detect in Italy a bomb of World War II (video)
It is thanks to the poresus that the level of the longest river in Italy - the river, which is located in the north of the country, decreased. The water that receded exposed the shore near one of the villages near the city of Mantuya, on which local fishermen found an intact bomb.
The military who arrived at the scene determined that it was a 450-kilogram bomb of American production, which did not break after the fall and lay in the river for more than 70 years, that is, since the Second World War. The Italian military had to evacuate about 3,000 locals before they had disposed of the bomb. In order to do so, the military was transported a bomb to a special quarry at a distance of 45 km from the place where it was discovered. The bomb was destroyed with a managed explosion.
As a result, no one was injured. Summer in Europe and, in particular, in Italy, continues to show temperature records. Experts predict that through climate change, such high temperatures in Europe will become a common occurrence. This can be avoided by significantly reducing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. In many cities in Europe, in June and July recorded record temperature.
As for the capital of Italy, in June, the highest temperature in June was registered in the history of observations in this country - 40. 5 degrees Celsius. It is worth mentioning that because of the incredible heat, water levels in the third largest river in Italy - the Tiber River began to decrease. It was on its shores that the city of Rome was founded in the mid -8th century BC.
So, in the Tiber River, the water level fell so much that in June this year it became clearly visible the ruins of the bridge, which was built by Emperor Nero, which ruled the Roman Empire from 54 to 68 AD. By the way, the ruins of this ancient Roman bridge appear only during very strong droughts. And that's exactly how it was registered in Italy.
Returning to the river on, on the shore of which the bomb was found, in July the authorities of Italy declared a state of emergency in the region near the river. This was done because of a very strong drought that affects agricultural cultivation. In the area of the river concentrated a third of all agricultural production of Italy. Focus has already written that July 2022 became one of the hottest months in history.
