"Surprise for the enemy": the commander explained why the Armed Forces are using robots in the war

According to the commander of the Kurt & Company, the plans to create a "whole army" of robotic dogs that will close gaps on the front. Kurt & company servicemen of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were first started using robots for the first time. A new weapon was told by the commander of the unit with the call sign "Kurt" in an interview with "Armyatv".

According to the officer, "Robpes" can fulfill various missions, including intelligence, maintain infantry, evacuate the wounded and lift ammunition. The work can also be equipped with explosives, turning it into a land drone Kamikadze. "It is a very good observer, a sapper. As a real dog, only an electronic one - we can apply all functions for military purposes. I will not tell other secrets yet, because we want to make the result and surprise for the enemy," the military said.

Kurt stressed that such systems are used to save the lives of the military. The basic requirements for the work-dog are as much load capacity, quality camera, and so that the operator can control the system from a safe place. However, even such work cannot be sent immediately. For about a year, the military developed and finalized this idea and now "Robpes" is ready by 70%. "Now, some nuances are undermined, refined and the dog will be used as a multifunctional weapon in various tasks," Kurt said.

The unit commander also declared plans to create an entire "army" of such dogs. Robotic dogs are expected to close the gaps in directions that the military now cannot be blocked. Kurt & Company is already awaiting the supply of a whole batch of these devices. For the first time, Kurt & Company soldiers first showed robots at the beginning of the month, publishing several videos filmed in Toretsk. In the video, the robot quickly moves to the intersecting terrain, removing the road to the camera.

The military did not call the work model, however, judging by the appearance, it is Unitree Go2 Pro from the Chinese company Unitree Robotics. According to the manufacturer, Unitree Go2 Pro is equipped with artificial intelligence, can overcome obstacles on its path, as well as master difficult steps, such as walking up and turning. Users can also draw a card of a certain area from the points of the card and control the autonomous movement work on a pre -programmed route.
