$ 9,000 per visa: Nepali detained people's recruits to participate in the war against Ukraine

According to Katmanda police, there are 10 people in custody. They all took an active part in transporting citizens to another country. Illegal activity took place through the UAE. Nepal's police managed to detain a group of ten people who took a lot of money from the unemployed young boys and sent for further recruitment in the Russian army. About it reports Reuters. It is noted that the detentions took place for the last few days, as told by the police chief of Katmandra County Bhpendra Hatri.

As a result, 10 people are in custody. "We are discussing this case with government lawyers and putting them in court," Bhpendra Hatry said. It was separately stated that the detained citizens initially took up to $ 9,000 from each person, and then sent them to Russia with tourist visas. This happened mainly through the United Arab Emirates. Such activity is illegal.

Already after arriving in Russia, citizens from Nepal began to recruit for participation in hostilities in the territory of Ukraine within the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. "This is a case of smuggling of people organized crime," the Katmanda County Head added. It is worth noting that the day before, Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs appealed to Russian representatives so that their citizens were not used in the war.

The citizens of the Asian country were urged not to join other people's armies, and even more so those countries that wage wars. In general, it is known that 150-200 Nepaleans have visited the Russian army. At least 6 people were killed, and another was captured. "Nepal's government has asked the Russian government to immediately return their bodies and pay compensation to their families," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal said.
