Trap under Kurakhov: Russians unsuccessfully stormed the Armed Forces, losing dozens of equipment

After the second day of the collision with the 79th ODSBR of the Armed Forces, the loss of Russians in the live force had more than one hundred people liquidated and wounded. The experts noted the fault attempts of the RF leadership to repeat the "Avdiivsky" breakthrough. Within two days, the Russian army made several attempts to break through the Ukrainian front line to the east of Kurakhov, faced with the powerful defense of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to the results of unsuccessful assault, the units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation lost dozens of armored vehicles and more than one hundred people killed and injured. Forbes observers were told about the details of combat clashes in Kurakhiv direction.

The authors of the material write that the army leadership of the Russian Federation in attempts to break the line of defense of the Ukrainian forces threw significant forces on the first day - 57 units of armored vehicles and a dozen motorcycles participated in the storming.

However, near the settlement Kurakhivka, the invaders collided with a competent and coordinated defense of the Ukrainian 79th Airborne Assault Brigade, whose fighters reflected the attack with the help of mines, artillery and drones. As a result, Russian troops were forced to retreat, leaving six broken tanks, seven infantry fighting vehicles and all 12 motorcycles. At the same time, the Ukrainian military counted 40 killed and 37 wounded among the Russians.

The next day, July 25, the Russian army made a second attempt with the participation of 16 armored vehicles. Again, meeting powerful defense, the assault with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation retreated, leaving one destroyed tank and two BMPs. The 79th ODSBR reported 23 killed and 29 wounded Russian soldiers. Judging by how the events on the battlefield unfolded, the observers noted that Kurakhivka became a real trap for exhausted Russian forces.

The fact is that, unlike the situation in the Avdeevsky direction, where Russian troops are slowly moving, the enemy tries to force the attack of Kurakhivka, which is the key to capturing a neighboring support point in Kurakhovo and strengthening control over the Donetsk region. "It is likely that the Russians will try to achieve Kurakhivka, which will allow them to cut the curakhov from logistics.

In addition, experts point out that Russian troops are difficult because of the need to attack simultaneously in several sectors, which in some way disperses their fighting power. Despite numerous failures, the Russian command continues to hope for a successful breakthrough in Kurakhov, following the example of Avdiivka. Experts, for their part, warn of the possible gradual promotion of Russian troops, though at a slow pace.
