DSEI Exhibition in London: War in Ukraine stimulates the production of new weapons (photos, videos)

Area Defense Weapon from Rheinmetal, as well as Steel Eagle Finnish developers from Insta, was presented for the review. Western manufacturers of weapons, taking into account the experience of hostilities in Ukraine, are working on samples of anti -tank weapons and means of damage to armored vehicles. Some of these samples were presented at the DSEI defense exhibition that took place last week in London. Defense News wrote about what novelties were presented to guests.

For example, the German company Rheinmetall revives the concept of "jumping mines" in its project Area Defense Weapon (ADW). The system that resembles a small beer barrel on stabilizers is equipped with a set of sensors, including passive and active sensors, which allows it to observe its operational situation in all directions. When the tank passes by, the ammunition bounces into the air and releases a 155-mm artillery charge in its top.

ADW can work independently within the designated operational zone, identifying and striking the goals autonomously, and reducing the need for constant human intervention and potentially reducing the response time. The system can interact with other means on the battlefield. It can be remotely activated, deactivated or reprogrammable, which allows you to coordinate actions and expand obstacles as needed. ADW has a weight of about 25 kg and a diameter of 234 mm.

In this case, the strengthened structure ensures durability during deployment and transportation. "Combat barriers, and in particular anti -tank mines, have been almost completely disrupted by NATO forces after the Cold War. The reproduction of this potential is currently the subject of analysis and concepts," the company representative explained. The Finnish Company Insta offers its barrel ammunition Steel Eagle, which is designed to destroy a large amount of live power on the open battlefield.

The drone carries a fragmentary charge, which, according to the company, from the beginning was in the form of an inflatable mine ADW. During the infantry of the municipal infantry, the ammunition explodes, releasing 3,000 subbounds with such force that they pierce even thin armor. "Steel Eagle can sprinkle an area of size from a third of the football field so much of the fragments that each square meter will occur on an average one and a half projectile.

The drone can also be programmed to fall to a small height immediately before the explosion for a more tight spray Insta of the Lehtont's Turea. Earlier it was reported that in Poland opened a plant for the production of American reactive systems of Himars volley fire.
