Since the beginning of the war, about 7,000 restaurants and cafes have been closed in Ukraine, and more than 2,000 new establishments have opened. This was stated by the co-founder of the National Restaurant Association of Ukraine Olga Pasonova, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“There are no accurate statistics because it is simply not conducted now, among these 7 thousand are the establishments that have been closed and those for which there are no data (in the occupied territories, in the zones of shelling). The market decreased by about 25% compared to February 2022. In some areas of the market, the market was more than 50% (Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk regions), in Kyiv, Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk regions - a fall of up to 30%, ”Nasonova said.

In Lviv and the region, the number of restaurants and cafes increased by about 30%, in the Transcarpathian, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk regions, an increase of approximately 20%was observed. “By the beginning of the summer, the market fall was significant. But since June, restaurants began to open in Kiev, as well as in the western regions, a total of more than 2 thousand institutions.

The restaurant market in Lviv has developed the most intensively - more than 500 new establishments in the region since the beginning of the war. Of all the cities in Western Ukraine, Lviv was the most striking and the most filled, ”Nasonova said. According to her, in the summer in Lviv were opened establishments of well -known networks: Bao casual (owner Taras Seredyuk), the last barricade (Dmitry Borisov), a number of franchise establishments.

At the same time, Panonova noted that it is incorrect to talk about the "relocation" of restaurants. “In fact, truly displaced, that is, those who carry equipment, furniture, etc. , units. More often, the restaurant was simply destroyed or in the occupied territory, and there was nothing to export. That is why new restaurants opened, ”Nasonova said. In her opinion, restaurant investors began to consider the cities of Western Ukraine as more profitable for launching a new business.

As for expansion abroad, there are few such examples. «It is planned to open the Black Sea, Borisov, Sukhomlin institutions. Countries - Poland and Germany, but more - Poland.
