Gayana Army reported a loss of communication with a helicopter near the border with Venezuela (video)

According to the Gaian General Omar Khan, two members of the helicopter crew were taken by five senior officers to the inspection of troops guarding the border area, which Venezuela declared in their territory. Guyana's defense forces (GDF) reported the loss of communication with the Bell 412 EPI helicopter, which was near the border with Venezuela. This was stated by Gaian General Omar Khan during a briefing on December 7.

Khan reported that the connection with the helicopter was lost late in the evening, after he flew from the settlement of Oli-Krick in Western Guyana after the stop for refueling. According to Khan, there were seven people on board the helicopter - two crew members and five senior officers. The military intended to check the condition of troops guarding the border area, whose annexation was declared by Venezuela. The Gaulyan General noted that there was bad weather in the area.

Asked whether the helicopter was shot down by a hostile fire, he said that there was no information that would have suggested that there was some flight of Venezuelan aircraft in the area. "Speculation is not what I want to do. Our priority is to save the lives of our officers and ordinary," the military said. According to Khan, the US government will help with the search for a missing helicopter.
