"Double blow": Paramedics told how they got under Russian fire in Bakhmut
When Jonsen came to her senses, he saw that the genus and the Ukrainian woman were dead. Jonesen and other volunteers told reporters that Bakhmut firing on January 2 is an illustration that Russian troops are specifically targeting paramedics and their assistants. This tactic was called a "double blow", which is that Russian invaders are striking, then waiting for a few minutes to arrive in place rescuers, and then beat again behind the same place.
The wife of the deceased Pete Reed told reporters that it was not a casual double shot from artillery. Yes, Russian troops tracked their group. According to the woman, the ambulance was clearly marked, and therefore the attack on humanitarian workers by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was deliberate. The publication writes that Pete Reli was a former US Army Marine. He arrived in Ukraine through Global Outreach Doctor.
But Jonesen and another of his colleague from Norway, Sander Trelwick, went to Ukraine as volunteers of another humanitarian organization Frontline Medics. Both were injured as a result of the explosion but survived. According to Jonsen, that day was ordinary in Bakhmut. His brigade arrived in the city in the morning to examine the wounded and give medication. However, artillery duels were much brighter than usual.
The paramedic told reporters that after the first shelling, their group received a signal for help. After arriving at the place, they saw two burned cars. Yes, the car of the injured woman was completely destroyed. The paramedics did not have time to find out what injuries the woman herself suffered, as the Russians again struck the same place. The publication writes that Jonesen and Trelwick have returned to Norway for further treatment.
Trelwick received burns and shrapnel wounds of the body, both legs and hands. Jonesen was injured, but despite this, he wants to return to Ukraine after recovery. "There is so much work in Ukraine," he said. Earlier, Focus wrote that according to analysts, three Russian criminal authorities of the 90s were eliminated in Ukraine. According to independent journalists, criminals fought criminals in the Wagner PEC.
