War is not an obstacle: Ukraine has significantly increased the volume of coal production - the Ministry of Energy

Thanks to this, some companies have already started active preparation for the next heating season. The war in Ukraine did not prevent the production of coal from the beginning of this year by 24%. This issue is extremely important in the preparation for the new heating season. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Energy. It is noted that in March 2022, 173 thousand tons were produced at state coal mining enterprises and this figure was reduced for a long time.

However, in January this year, production reached a mark of 178 thousand tons, and in February it increased to 197 thousand tons. In March, the figure was already 221 thousand tons, which is 24% higher than January. In addition, there is an increase in the average daily production rates: if in September, 4. 1 thousand tons of coal were extracted in September, then in March this figure increased to 7. 1 thousand tons. Due to the growth warehouses of energy enterprises.

According to the end of last month, the TPP and TPP warehouses managed to accumulate 1 million 208 thousand tons of coal: this is 508 thousand tons more than the initial plan. This is extremely important in the context of preparation for the next heating season, which has already been started at some power plants. It is worth noting that last year it became known about the supply of the Russians to Turkey coal from a temporarily occupied Donbass.

In general, from February to July last year, more than 160 thousand tons of coal from the occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions arrived in Turkey. Its value amounted to a minimum of $ 14. 3 million. Thus, Turkey was the largest export point of coal from annexed areas: it accounted for 95% of deliveries for the specified period. In addition, Russia continues to actively supply coal to Poland, although the latter called for a boycott of natural resources from the Russian Federation.
