It is necessary to draw the world's attention to the fate of illegally exported Ukrainian children - Andriy Yermak at a meeting of the Coordination Council on Children's Protection
Particular attention was paid to the return of children whom Russia was forcibly deported from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. “The Russian Federation continues to commit its crimes related to Ukrainian children. The export of children is ongoing. Unfortunately, because of the very passive position of international organizations, including the ICCC, we are not able to fix the exact figure today, how many and where our children are, ”Andrey Yermak said.
The head of the head of state stated that Ukraine is trying to get comprehensive information about Ukrainian children independently and in cooperation with international partners. Only through the portal "Children of War" do thousands of reports of forced movement or deportation of minor citizens of Ukraine receive.
Andriy Yermak urged the audience to intensify their activities, as well as to cooperate with international humanitarian organizations, ombudsmen and governments of other countries in order to attach them to a mission to return young Ukrainians home. In his opinion, Ukraine, in particular, can count on the assistance of the United Nations, which can support the creation of new sites.
"We have to count on ourselves, but also attracted those partners who demonstrated their willingness to help us," said the head of the head of state. Advisor-President of Ukraine for the Rights of the Child and Children's Rehabilitation Darya Gerasimchuk told the audience that during the full-scale Russian war, 430 children were killed, 827 were injured, 260 were considered missing. According to the National Information Bureau, more than 10.
5 thousand children are on the list of deported and forcibly displaced. Darya Gerasimchuk also announced the beginning of dialogue with other international organizations and world sites to assist in the establishment of data on children who have been deported or exported to Russia and to temporarily occupied territories.
The Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Irina Vereshchuk informed that at this time Ukraine managed to return only 96 children, of whom 69 - from the territory of Russia and 27 from the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets stressed that the forced deportation of children is a direct sign of the genocide of the Ukrainian people.
According to him, Ukraine collects and captures evidence of criminal offenses against minor Ukrainians. The Ombudsman also said that representatives of the EU countries and his colleagues from other countries are interested in the fate of Ukrainian children deported to Russia and the issue of their return to Russia, and the authorities are ready to facilitate information about such children.
According to the results of the meeting, it was decided to invite the Coordination Council for the Protection and Safety of Children of the UN Secretary General Antonu Guterrish, the ambassadors of the organization, ambassadors of the Grand Twenty, Ombudsmen, etc. Andriy Yermak expressed his belief that the issue of returning home to young Ukrainians should be raised at the highest levels, in particular, it is necessary to initiate its discussion at the G20 summit.
