Ukraine can be left without "patriots": Pentagon has been outlined

Missile complexes require repair and maintenance. Although the US Defense Ministry has organized technical work on the ground, there are no plans for full maintenance of systems in Ukraine in the Pentagon. The US Department of Defense has transferred Patriot air defense systems and various combat vehicles without a long -term service plan, which can lead to problems in the future.

The inability to fully maintain Patriot complexes increases the risk that Ukraine will not be able to protect itself from Russian aggression. This is stated in the report of the supervisory body of the Pentagon. The document states that the US defense department assisted with repair of anti-aircraft missile complexes on the ground, but there is no plan for more complex repair and maintenance of the Pentagon.

Although the United States has handed over the spare parts to Ukraine for the field of maintenance by the end of the 2024 financial year, the weapons system "will hardly remain able to work without maintenance". In addition, the American Unit of Remote Distribution and Maintenance Center-Ukraine, based in Poland, is not able to repair "patriots" at the level of depot.

In view of the situation, the General Inspector of the Ministry of Defense recommended that the European command of the United States determine the requirements and facilities necessary for the organization of such repair. "The impossibility of full -fledged Patriot service increases the risk that Ukraine will not be able to protect itself from Russia," the report reads.

Another problem is that the United States will be very difficult to replace the Patriot systems they have transmitted to Ukraine. All the missile complexes transferred to Ukraine were on American landfills, and additional requests will be "painful" for the US Armed Forces.

The document stated that the lack of maintenance at the warehouse level in Ukraine can be compared with the problems faced by the National Army of Afghanistan, depending on the American support "the constant inability of Afghanistan to serve the gift of equipment transferred to the gift has become one of the factors of the army's defeat from the Taliban," They emphasized in the Pentagon.
