Foam, adhesive tape and without a wheel: what is made of Russian Uak-Kamikadze (Photo)

A small Russian unmanned aircraft with explosives is made of the cheapest materials. In some places, the primitive structure damages its flight characteristics. Russian unnamed aircraft Drone-Kamikadze, which has previously appeared on a video made of the cheapest materials and has a design that limits its speed and maneuverability. Its structure was analyzed in the social network X (former Twitter) Canadian physicist and UAV expert with Nick Danielr.

The Russian drone fuselage is formed of two aluminum pipes. The wing is made of foam and has a sort of about 2 m. The wings are very simple - with parallel front and rear edges (constant chord). The wing has two wooden spars, it is made of foam. It may have been cut with a hot wire and then covered with a heat -shaped film. The engine speed regulator is attached to zipper fasteners, the batteries are glued with adhesive tape.

The wings are pressed to the fuselage with a piece of plywood held in place by four nuts. Two spars (which bent during the accident) pass under the clamp. This clamp also acts as a compartment for batteries that hold the battery in place with adhesive tape. Elerons are attached to the back edge of the wing and are located far inside the wing, which reduces their efficiency. The receiver of the radio and antenna are located near the left end of the wing.

The wires are glued diagonally through the upper surface of the wing (a bad decision, according to the expert). Wiring in a clutter, and the ammunition connections are poor. The boards are in the central plywood. Dron Kamikadze should be shunting, but it is strange that this drone does not have a steering wheel. An interesting solution is also the installation of a video transmitter in the center of the vertical stabilizer. Free wires indicate a lack of thoughtfulness and caution.

The installed video transmitter can be purchased at Alibaba. Its capacity is from 3 to 5 watts, and the manufacturer declares a radius of 10 km. They can be bought in very large quantities for about $ 30. The same video antenna is installed on various Russian drones, including these captured quadcopters. Video antenna is set up on 1320 MHz. The camcorder is installed under the fuselage near the back edge of the wing. This is a strange location because the viewing field is very limited.

The engine seems not enough for drone of this size and weight. It is unclear how it is fixed to aluminum tubes. Tabs under the central fuselage can be for running. The folding rack can be vulnerable to attack. The drone is slow and can be attacked by a quadcopter. Earlier, videos of such attacks have already been published. 14. Ukrainians often have videos of both drones, attacked and attacked. The drone elevator is unprotected and vulnerable.

Ukraine is protecting against these drones, launching much faster FPV-paths with explosives. Here is a photo taken from a Ukrainian drone during a clash with the tail of the Russian drone. The expert concludes that this Russian drone is not like a structure that could be expected from professional military, but more reminiscent of drones that terrorists collect.
