NATO has 3 years to prepare to avoid war with Russia - Polish Minister

The Head of the National Security Bureau of Poland is convinced that the necessary potential should be created on the eastern flank of the Alliance in three years to restrain the aggression of the Russian Federation. In order to avoid war with Russia, NATO's Eastern Flank countries are in stock for three years to prepare. Among the necessary measures is the increase in the number of personnel of the army and the creation of new Army formations.

On December 2, the Head of the National Security Bureau (BBN) of Poland Jacek Sevier in an interview with Nasz Dziennik. The Polish official commented on the opinion of representatives of the German Foreign Policy Association, who claim that the West countries remained from 5 to 9 years to prepare for the reflection of Moscow. According to Seviera, such forecasts are too optimistic.

"If we want to avoid war, NATO countries should take a shorter, 3-year time horizon for confrontation on the eastern flank. It is the time during which the potential should be created on the eastern flank as a clear restraining factor against aggression," the minister said . According to the official, the weapon industry in Russia operates in a three -shift mode and is able to restore resources in the next three years after the losses incurred in Ukraine.

In this context, the Polish minister noted the government's position, as well as critics from opposition on further procurement of weapons for the Polish troops. Seviera said that the discontent of the opposition majority in the Seimas procurement of 500 units of Himars systems does not stand criticism, and all arguments that the manufacturer allegedly will not cope with such supply volumes are wrong.

"Since peaceful production and supply in peacetime, that is, by 2022, it would be appropriate to compare our purchases with the number of volley fire systems destroyed from the Russian and Ukrainian side. The Russians have lost about 900 such kits, Ukraine - more than 500 ", - said Seviera. We will remind, the Minister of Defense of Poland Mariusz Blaschak made a decision to form the Sixth Army Division, for which he criticized from the opposition.
