The Russians claim that supercomputers and dates in orbit will have a beneficial effect on the planet's environment, because they consume a lot of energy to work and cool and produce a huge amount of heat. And if you run into space, you will not need to cool them, and quantum computers generally require low temperatures for productive work, so cold orbit will be ideal for them. Scientists plan to feed all this complex structure at the expense of sun energy by placing solar panels on stations.
The transmission of information will be carried out by satellite communication. According to Professor Georgy Shcheglov, the most ideal point for the placement of supercomputers and the DATE centers is the Lagranga L1 point. At this point, the sun is always in the field of view of solar panels, and almost equal gravity between Earth and the Sun at this point will save the energy of maintaining the station in orbit.
The critics of the project claim that the idea is not economically beneficial, because only the cost of orbital launch of such structures will overlap any potential profit from them. In addition, the earth's apparatus operates in orbit for five years, and they need to be repaired or replaced by analogues. But it can be a wonderful PR-race as another demonstration of "greatness of Russia".
