Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law according to which mobilized Russians, who conclude contracts with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for a year or more, should receive increased one -time payments - 195 thousand rubles ($ 3,50). Putin's decree was published on the Russian official online portal of legal information. The decree, according to the Russian media, should provide additional social support to Russian servicemen stationed in Ukraine.

Payments do not apply to cadets and students of military Highways. Along with numerous reports of demoralized Russian troops and cases of desertion, news appears about attempts to disrupt mobilization and problems with payments. It was reported that Russian recruits have to buy bulletproof vests at their own expense. Reservists and volunteers complained that they were not paid, poorly fed, or refused payments.

Russian volunteers and mobilized were promised salaries, more than twice as high as on average in the Russian Federation.
