According to the official declaration of income, in the first year of the war (2022) the number of millionaires in Ukraine increased by a record 16%-to 12. 37 thousand people. Such data provided Danilo Getmantsev. That is, despite the war, 2863 new millionaires appeared in Ukraine.

And this is only officially and despite the fact that 6 million people found themselves abroad (many of them do not give a declaration) or in occupation. And among those who left or remained in the occupied territories, there were also millionaires who disappeared from the radar of our tax system. Such growth confirms the words of the classic that the more tears and despair at one social pole, the more excesses and a corrupted luxury - on another.

On the one hand, the increase in the number of millionaires is good. Society is rich, the amount of taxes to the budget is increasing. But this is if the economy works. And if in 2022 GDP fell by 29%? And the industry - even deeper? In this case, the increase in the number of millionaires is evidence that part of society has learned to make money in the war and is the main beneficiary of its continuation.
