Putin's attempt to create a new PVC under the direction of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation fails - BBC

It is reported that PECs are not regulated by the laws of Russia, but continue to exist. This is their advantage because they are free from responsibility to the command of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Russian President Vladimir Putin will not be able to create a new "Wagner", which will be obeyed by the Ministry of Defense, because this is contrary to the very essence of the PEC. This was reported by BBC military correspondent Pavel Aksyonov.

According to him, the mercenaries of the Wagner PVU were called "volunteers" in their reports. The preliminary attempt to force them to sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and to go under its subordination ended with the rebellion of the head of the "Wagner" Yevgeny Prigogine. The fact is that mercenaries were not going to obey the rules of the Russian state. The expert noted that the PEC is not regulated by the laws of Russia, but continue to exist.

This is their advantage because they are free from responsibility to the command of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. On the other hand, it violates the principle of unity. It is reported that during a full -scale invasion of Ukraine, the army of the Russian Federation demonstrated major system problems. But the small private army of Prigogine, offering profitable contracts, was able to lure experienced soldiers and officers.

When the mercenaries began to fight with Ukraine, the Kremlin delegated a great authority. This is evidenced by the recruitment of prisoners and sending them to "meat storms". Moreover, the material states that Prigogine was also allowed to introduce their own "Criminal Code" within the PEC with executions. Aksyonov reported that Wagner PEC existed outside the state system. This is what made it effective. Without it, the Armed Forces would not be able to take Bakhmut.

It should be reminded that Putin instructed the colleague to form detachments of "volunteers" for war in Ukraine. The Kremlin head met with the ex-head of the Wagner PEC headquarters Andriy Troshev, whom Wagnerivtsi is considered a traitor through cooperation with the Defense Ministry after a failed rebellion. On September 28, it was reported that the ISW confirmed the return of Wagner PEC under Bakhmut. Currently, there are about 500 Wagner PECs under Bakhmut.
