New EU sanctions against Russia will affect more than 120 people and companies: Details

Among other things, it is reported that the measures are aimed at the organizers of illegal elections in the temporarily occupied territories, persons who support the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and persons who are responsible for the "re -education" of Ukrainian children. 11 Package of sanctions against Russia was approved at the end of June 2023. It included measures aimed at combating Russia bypassed previously imposed restrictions.

The next, 12 package of sanctions, provides restrictions on technology used by Russia for military purposes. In particular, it is about welding machines, chemicals, lithium batteries, drone engines and more. The possibility of imposing sanctions for diamond exports from January 1 is also considered. Imports of diamonds of the Russian Federation, which are cultivated in third countries, will be restricted.

In general, the next sanctions package provides restrictions on trade in goods by nearly 5 billion euros.
