The norm was exceeded 6 times: experts explained that it got into the air after shelling of Kiev

To spread: after a combined attack on Kiev on July 4, the state of air was significantly deteriorating in the city. The right shore of the capital covered black smoke from numerous fires, and the amount of harmful impurities in the atmosphere was exceeded several times.

The Deputy CEO of the State Security Service "Kyiv City Center for Control and Disease Prevention" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Oleksandr Stil told in a comment to the TSN that in the atmosphere of the capital revealed exceeding the permissible level of content of harmful substances for humans. Among them were nitrogen dioxide, sulfuric anhydride and carbon monoxide.

"According to the results after shelling and fires, the excess of these harmful substances is recorded three times by different indicators, and some are six times. That is, there are significant excesses," Alexander Stil explained. However, he noted that experts carry out repeated measurements, and during the day there is a dynamics of reducing the amount of harmful impurities in the atmosphere. After previous shelling, the state of air in the capital returned to the norm of the afternoon.

The most pollution in the air was recorded on the streets of Grigorovich-Barsky, Shcherbakivsky, Vokzalnaya, Brest Avenue, on the Lower Val and Mezhigirskaya Street, Alexander Styl said. He noted that on the left bank the situation was better. There, slight excess of the norm of harmful substances was found in Darnytskyi Square, Revutsky, Regenerative and Kyoto streets. According to journalists, by 12:30 significant excesses of air pollution in Kiev were no longer observed.

High rates were recorded only in the center and on Demiivska Square near the central bus station, where the air is never clean due to intense road traffic. The fire was also noticeable at Borshchagivka and Svyatoshino. According to the expert, the smoke was formed mostly through the burning of objects in which drones and rockets were hit, and in the ammunition itself only fuel burns. "Unfortunately, it burns where the ammunition is, which can be anything.

It all depends on the objects where the fire broke out. Accordingly, certain chemicals will be released into the air. The expert noted that the greatest danger of smoke from fires in Kiev is for children, the elderly, as well as those who have chronic respiratory diseases. They are advised not to leave the house to normalize the state of air, and if you still need to wear masks.

In healthy people, exceeding the content of harmful substances in the atmosphere can cause short -term discomfort, shortness of breath or sore throat, but it does not pose a threat to health, Alexander Styl explained. Ecologist Oleksandr Sokolenko told reporters that dry and sunny weather will be established in Kiev in the next three days, through which harmful impurities will "hang" in the air. They will reach even more concentration if there is a calm in the capital.

“If there are air attacks in Russia in such weather, then it is very bad for air quality. If Kiev was under the action of cyclone and was windy or rainy weather, then the state of air would be better, ”the expert said. After a night mass attack of the Russian Federation, on July 4, the people of Kyivans were urged to close the windows because of the high concentration of combustion products in the air.

On the official portal of Kiev it was recommended to turn on the air conditioning systems, carry out wet cleaning and consume more fluid. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources as of 9:00 on July 4 reported that after a night attack, the quality of air in the capital has temporarily deteriorated. The radiation background remained normal.
