Contrary to all obstacles and gloomy scenarios, Ukraine has not fallen. Ukraine is alive and fights. And it gives me good reason to share with you our first common victory - we won Russia in the battle for the thoughts of the world. We have no fear. And no one in the world should be. The Ukrainians won, and it gives us the courage that the world admires. The Americans won, so you managed to unite the global community for the protection of freedom and international law.

Europeans have won-that's why Europe is now strong and independent than ever in its history . . . Russian tyranny has lost control of us and will never influence our thoughts again. But we need to do everything to make the global south also win. I know: Russians can also have a chance to freedom only when they defeat the Kremlin in their thoughts. But the battle is still ongoing. And we have to defeat the Kremlin on the battlefield.

It is a battle not only for the land, for one or the other part of Europe. It is a battle not only for the life, freedom and security of Ukrainians or any other people that Russia seeks to conquer. It is a battle for what world our children and grandchildren and their children and grandchildren will live in. She will determine if it will be democracy - for Ukrainians and Americans, for everyone. This battle cannot be frozen or delayed.

It cannot be ignored, hoping that the ocean or something else will protect themselves. From the United States to China, from Europe and Latin America, from Africa and Australia, the world is too interconnected, too interdependent, so that one can stay away somewhere and at the same time in safe when such a battle lasts. Our two nations are allies in this battle. And next year - the decisive time in it.

A time when Ukrainian courage and American determination must guarantee our future with you freedom. Freedoms of people who stand for their values. Ladies and Gentlemen! Americans! Before traveling here, to Washington, I was on the front line, in our Bakhmut. In our fortress in eastern Ukraine, in the Donbass, which Russian military and mercenaries have been storming continuously since May. Attacks every day and every night. But Bakhmut stands. Last year, 70,000 people lived there.

Now there are units of civilians. There is no place that would not be watered with blood. There is no hour when there would be no terrible roar of artillery. There, one trench can move several times a day from hand to hand after bloody battles, sometimes hand -to -hand. But the Ukrainian Donbas stands. The Russian army uses against Bakhmut and other our beautiful cities everything he can. The advantage of the occupiers in artillery is very noticeable. They have many times more shells than we have.

They use many times more rockets and aviation than we ever had. But our defense forces are standing. And we are all proud of them. Russian tactics are primitive. They burn everything in front of them. They drove on the front of the heads. They send the "Zecs" to the war . . . They threw everything against us in the same way as another tyranny threw everything against the free world in the battle for the speech.

Just as brave American soldiers resisted and reflected from the Hitler troops despite all the difficulties during the Christmas of 1944, brave Ukrainian soldiers did the same with Putin's troops of this Christmas. Ukraine stands and will never give up! This is the front line: tyranny that does not know the scarcity of cruelty, against the lives of free people. We need your help not just to stand in such battles, but to break it. To win the battlefield. We have artillery. So. Thank you.

Is it enough? Frankly - no. In order for Bakhmut to be not only a fortress that reflects the attacks of the Russian army, but to completely retreat, more guns and shells are needed. In this case, as in the Battle of Saratok, the struggle for Bakhmut will change the course of our war for independence and freedom. If your Patriot air defense systems stop Russian terror against our cities, it will allow Ukrainian patriots to fully work in defense of our freedom.

If Russia does not reach our cities with artillery, it tries to destroy them with rockets. Moreover, Russia has found an accomplice in this genocide policy. It's Iran. Iranian killer drones that go to Russia have become a threat to our critical infrastructure. So one terrorist finds another. And this is a matter of time when they hit your other allies if we do not stop them now. We have to do it! There should be no taboo between us in the union.

Ukraine has never asked or asks for American soldiers to fought on our land for us. I assure you, Ukrainian soldiers can perfectly manage American tanks and planes themselves. Financial assistance is also critical. And I would like to thank you for both the financial packages that you have already provided us and for those you may have made a decision. Your money is not charity. It is an investment in global security and democracy that we treat the most responsible.

Russia can stop this aggression if he wants. But you can speed up our victory, I know that. And she will prove any potential aggressor that no one will be able to break the borders of another people, to commit atrocities and to reign over people against their will. You can strengthen sanctions so as to make Russia feel how devastating its aggression is. In your own power, it is to help us hold everyone who has solved this unexpected and illegal war. Let's do it! Let the terrorist state be responsible for terror and aggression and compensate for all the damage caused by war. Let the world see that the United States is here! Ladies and Gentlemen! Americans! In a few days we will celebrate Christmas. Perhaps with candles. Not because so more romantic.

And because there will be no light. Millions of Ukrainians will have neither heating nor water. All this will be the result of Russian missile and unmanned blows on our energy infrastructure. But we do not complain. We do not look at who is easier. Your well -being is the result of your national security, the result of your struggle for independence and your numerous victories. We will also go through our war for independence and freedom. We will celebrate Christmas.

And even if there is no electricity, the light of our faith in us will not go out. If there are Russian missiles, we will do everything we can to protect. If there are Iranian drones and our people have to go to the bomb shelter in the evening before Christmas, the Ukrainians will sit at the festive table and support each other. And we do not have to know everyone's desire, because we know that all of us, millions of Ukrainians, we strive for one - victory. Only victory.

We have already built strong Ukraine - with strong people, a strong army, strong institutions. Together with you! We develop strong security guarantees for our country, for the whole of Europe and the world. Together with you! And so we will put with you in the place of each of those who challenged freedom. It will be the foundation for the protection of democracy in Europe and the world. Now, before Christmas, these special days I want to thank you. All of you.
