US European partners have perceived it as a sign that the White House administration would not abandon Ukraine's further support. Two officials of the EU have told reporters that in the last few weeks, the Trump team has not reached how to end the war in Ukraine. According to them, the United States, apparently, will continue to support Kiev after the inauguration of Donald Trump on January 20.
"The whole team of Trump is obsessed with power, to look strong, so they rethink the approach to Ukraine," said one of the EU representatives. The new administration also seeks to avoid possible comparisons with how US troops under Joe Biden's presidency came out of Afghanistan. The Trump team would not like to see the repetition of similar in Ukraine.
