GUR said that Ukraine has shot down the Russian A-50 rockets C-200

According to journalists, in the summer of 2023 in the Russian Federation reported that the Armed Forces allegedly used recycled C-200 for strikes and for land purposes. The Ukrainian military knocked down the Russian aircraft A-50y in rockets from the Soviet anti-aircraft complex of the Far Darm of the C-200. This was reported by the Ukrainian Pravda newspaper in the GUR Ministry of Defense. According to journalists, the C-200 complexes began to be developed in the USSR times 60 years ago.

Later, the complex passed several modernizations. The publication noted that in July 2023, Russian propagandists began to report that the Armed Forces allegedly used recycled C-200 for blows and for land purposes. "Theoretically, the use of upgraded C-200 missiles for lanes for land purposes is possible at a range of up to 600 km," the TASS reported, citing a source in the PCS of the Russian Federation.

In addition, as stated in the material, the former deputy chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, responsible for the air defense system, Igor Romanenko said that the Ukrainian military really worked in training the use of the S-200 rocket for land purposes. We will remind, Ukraine has shot down a rare A-50U reconnaissance aircraft. According to GUR, the air command point used for strikes in Ukrainian cities was shot down during a joint operation of intelligence and air forces.

A-50y was not a regular, but a modernized version. Later it became known that in the Russian Federation the fragments of the whipped A-50U were found. The Russians say they hear the detonation of the ammunition at the site of the plane fall in the Krasnodar region. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is silent about the extraordinary events of the evening on February 23. GUR also showed evidence of the beating of the A-50U spy aircraft.
