NATO's reaches digging anti -tank ditches on the border with the Russian Federation and Belarus: what is happening

In Latvia, it is planned to use mine fields in the case of hostilities. Currently, obstacles are being created without the use of explosives, said the engineering inspector Caspar Lazdinish. The Latvian military creates protective fortifications, various obstacles and ammunition compositions along the border with the Russian Federation and Belarus. This was reported by an engineering inspector, Lieutenant Colonel Caspar Lazdinish, reports LSM. LV.

He emphasized that the first line of defense is created at a distance of about a kilometer from the border from the Russian Federation, near the border point Terekhovo in the Ludzensky region. In particular, one of the elements is an anti -tank ditch. "Here we dig the road and make an anti -tank moat so that this road, if necessary, is not able to move transport. Including tanks," Caspar Lazdinish said.

According to him, the plan of anti -mobility includes the creation of a chain of obstacles and the use of natural, namely rivers, swamps, forests. Instead, mine fields will be used in the event of hostilities. Lazdinish noted that they now create obstacles without the use of explosives. In addition, it is planned to dig anti -tank ditches along the border, which will then be strengthened by the dragon's teeth.

Instead, ammunition storage rooms will be determined in accordance with regulations and military need. We will remind, on April 10 in the media reported that in the south of Finland in the city of Mickel, which is located one hundred kilometers from the border from the Russian Federation, plan to create a new headquarters of NATO Land Forces. At least 375 officers of the Alliance member countries are planning to be sent in Mickel.
