"We do not need war": Kuleba spoke about relations with Poland against the background of grain crisis

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the "emotions" of the Polish side are connected with the approaching parliamentary elections, but Kiev is ready to find a joint solution to the problem. Ukraine is determined to resolve the situation related to the ban on the export of Ukrainian grain and does not want to enter the Grain War with Poland.

This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleb in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, published on September 27. According to Kuleba, Ukraine has no other choice than it came out of this crisis, but it was not created by Kiev. Kuleba linked the "emotions" of the Polish side related to the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain, with parliamentary elections in Poland, which will take place on October 15.

"Until October 15, before the election day in Poland, the temperature can still rise. But we are set to construct. We work with the European commission. We have transmitted to Poland clear signals about our setup for a constructive solution to this situation. We do not need this grain war and Poland Also, "Kuleba said. Kuleba emphasized that examples of Ukraine's relations with Bulgaria and Romania show that "there are no insoluble problems.

" He recalled that at first there were five countries that imposed restrictions on the import of Ukrainian grain. "Now Bulgaria and Romania have found decisions, and the other three countries have not been found. The reason did not find, obviously, not because there are no decisions. There are some other reasons why these decisions are not," the Foreign Minister added. At the same time, Kuleba assured that Kiev has the desire to find similar solutions.

It should be noted that the day earlier, on September 27, Romanian Prime Minister Marchel Colak noted that the country did not introduce a ban on the importation of Ukrainian grain after Poland, as it believes that Ukraine should help Ukraine before its victory in war with Russia. Recall that restrictions on wheat, sunflower, corn and rapeseed from Ukraine to Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia have been operating since May 2023.

However, on September 15, 2023, the European Commission made a decision to revoke the embargo on the supply of Ukrainian grain. The head of the Polish government Mateusz Moravetsky expressed his dissatisfaction with this decision and stated that it was "wrong. " Poland has confirmed its intention not to remove the embargo on Ukrainian grain, the ban was also supported by Hungary and Slovakia.

On September 18, it became known that in response to a ban on the import of agricultural products, Ukraine is going to file a lawsuit against Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. On the same day, September 18, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia responded to Ukraine to complain to the World Trade Organization (WTO) due to restrictions on grain importation. Three countries have decided to end their participation in the work of the European Commission Coordination Platform on the grain problem.
