Novogrodivka itself is not a promptly significant city - its potential capture would theoretically open the road to Pokrovsk, but the latter larger, more fortified and, finally, significantly more significant than Novogrodivka through its central position as a key logistics node in the west of Donetsk region. The Ukrainian forces are unlikely to deviate from Pokrovsk, without protecting the city, consider analysts.

At the same time, the Russian military command will probably be forced to spend considerable labor and material means to capture a more defensive and significant city in Pokrovsk if the Ukrainian military command decides to strengthen this direction. Therefore, suggesting the Russian troops, which are unlikely to be able to support the current rates of conquests endlessly, especially if they start storming the city itself.
