"Never happens": Putin wants to occupy Kiev and "erase" Ukraine - Blinken (video)

The US Secretary of State did not exclude Joe Baiden and Vladimir Putin's handshake in the future. However, he assured that the NATO reaction to the promotion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, even a millimeter in one of the Member States, would not have to wait. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is convinced that the desire of Russian President Vladimir Putin to seize Kiev and "erase" all Ukraine will never come true.

He stated this on the French Channel LCI, as they passed in TF1info. "This will never happen," Blinken assured. He stressed that the decision on a truce with Russia and the status of temporarily occupied territories should only be made by Ukraine. "Whatever they decide, we will support them," the US Secretary of State said. He did not exclude US President's handshake, Joe Baiden and Putin in the future.

However, the politician stressed that this is possible only if the Russian leader changes his policy. Blinken does not believe that Putin is interested in expanding the conflict and attracting NATO countries. According to him, if the Russian troops advance at least "centimeter or even a millimeter" to the NATO territory, there will be a corresponding reaction of the Alliance members. The US Secretary of State also commented on the nuclear threat from Russia.

According to him, in Washington there was "fear" that Moscow would resort to nuclear blows. We will remind, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated that during the NATO summit in Washington, the Allies will discuss the creation of a "roadmap" for Ukraine. White House Representative Joe Kirby said that Joe Baiden's administration would look for ways to provide Ukraine with immediate support. He stressed that "Deadline", when the government was to take action, had already expired.
