The Pentagon will provide Ukraine with F-16 fighters. But the United States will restrict Kiev in the use of weapons in the Russian territory. In the near future, Denmark and the Netherlands, as well as Belgium with Norway will transfer F-16 fighters to Ukraine. But the issue of weapons for these planes remains unresolved, writes The Wall Street Journal.

Therefore, as the newspaper writes, referring to the anonymous high -ranking US official, Washington decided to hand over some ammunition to Ukraine. Despite the limited reserves of the Pentagon, the air forces of the Armed Forces will receive missiles "Air-Earth", complexes of accurate guidance for bombs and modern missiles of the class "Air-air". The amount of this weapon, as noted, will be sufficient to meet the most vague needs of Ukraine.

The interlocutor does not rule out that European countries can buy Washington from additional weapons of Ukrainian aircraft, but warned that the United States will restrict the Armed Forces in the use of missiles for the F-16. In other words, Ukrainian defenders will not be able to "freely" be killed by American weapons in the territory of the aggressor country, but only by responding to the attacks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the Russian side of the border.
