Limited use of "calibers" indicates significant problems of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - the media

According to journalists, now only Russian surplus ships and centers of the Kilo class can fire Ukraine with rockets "Caliber". Russia has reduced the use of marine base missiles, partly because Moscow has logistic difficulties. And this prevents the firing of Ukrainian cities. Newsweek writes about it.

According to speaker OK South Colonel Natalia Humeniuk, it is now problematic for the Russians to deliver missiles at the same time and to maintain missile installations that launch "calibers" and even recharge them. The main part of logistics and infrastructure used to launch "calibers" is located in Sevastopol. It is difficult to get there now to get there, added Humeniuk.

"The fact that Ukraine can strike on the naval facilities and ships in Sevastopol has significantly influenced Russia's ability to launch the winged" Caliber "missiles," said William Freere, a researcher at the British Center Council on Geostrategy. It is reported that only Russian surplus ships and Kilos can be fired by Ukraine's Caliber missiles. In September 2023, Ukraine successfully struck the Russian submarine "Rostov-on-Don", for this use of winged Storm Shadow missiles.

Rostov-on-Don was believed to be damaged and is not repaired. "Given that many fleet wars were damaged or sank, and their logistics objects were occasionally attacked, the possibility of delivering and launching these missiles from the Black Sea Fleet ships was threatened," FRIR said. Moscow is looking for alternative ways of launching "calibers". The need for the Russian Federation in the development of different ways will increase over time, as the losses of the Black Sea Fleet are noticeable.
