Without money and housing: 130,000 IDPs returned to the front line or occupation - People's Deputy

Within two months, the number of displaced persons who returned home increased almost three times, explained MP Maxim Tkachenko. The parliamentarian associates this with the cancellation of payments, introduced from the spring of 2024. Citizens who have left the territories in the occupation or from the war zone are organized differently in new places of residence. Some of them can not integrate, have problems with payments for intraverted persons (IDPs) and housing, and therefore returns home.

Maxim Tkachenko, a People's Deputy of the People's Servant of the People, and the Chairman of the Temporary Investigation Commission (TSC) on the war, the People's Deputy of the People's Servant of the People, and the Chairman of the Provisional Investigation Commission (TSC) on IDP defense of IDPs. Tkachenko spoke with journalists during the conference "Cash Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons", which was conducted by TSC with USAID support.

People's Deputy reported that 130,000 IDPs are returned to pre -residence. In this case, their homes can be on the line of combat collision or under occupation. The reason for this situation is the inability to find the apartment and lack of payments from the state. "First of all, due to housing problems and lack of funds, almost 130,000 displaced persons were forced to return home, in the war zone or even to that," he said.

The politician stressed that the migrants are a "treasure" that Ukraine can use during rebuilding. Therefore, it is especially important to give them enough time and money to integrate in a new place. "Integration takes time, and payments are helping to start a new life," Tkachenko said. According to the People's Deputy, IDPs can help the Bill No. 10382, initiated by 11 deputies in December 2023.

The bill separately states that such people will have the right to receive payments from the state to the end of martial law or until it is sufficiently adapted. It should be noted that IDPs are intraveracted persons who had to leave the area where fighting continues or in occupation. According to the Ministry of Social Policy, as of March 2024, such people were 4. 8 million. 47 thousand returned home. According to Tkachenko, two months later, as of June, this number increased 2.
