A national military cemetery will appear in Kiev: where it will be equipped

The capital's authorities wanted to create a place of honorary burials between Lukyanivka and cheese, next to Babi Yar. The Cabinet suggested that it be closer to the center - in the Pechersk district. A National Military Cemetery will appear in Kiev Mountain. The first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration (KSCA) Mykola Povoroznik told about it on January 11 in an interview with TSN. "Yes, such a cemetery should be equipped in the capital.

I think that in this matter it is necessary to go from words to specific actions," the official said. The city authorities, he said, proposed to arrange a place for honorary burials near Babin Yar, which is located between the capital districts of Lukyanovka and Syrets. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made another decision - to make a national military cemetery on Lysia Gora in the Pechersk district. The Kyiv City Council supported this idea.

"Now the discussions about this are between opponents . . . It is necessary to honor the memory of the dead heroes. We will remind that the Kiev authorities on July 14 last year supported the idea of creating a military cemetery in the capital and places of honorary burials of the Ukrainian military. On March 3, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for the adoption of a bill that determines the legal status of a national military cemetery.
