The FSB recruited a 20-year-old resident of the Novgorod-Siversky community in March 2022 during a partial occupation of the region. In October 2023, his "curator" set a traitor of Ukraine new tasks. The SBU detained the FSB agent, who was spying on the dislocation and movement of defense units in Chernihiv. This was reported in the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine on Telegram.

Law enforcement officers found that he had collected information and intelligence on the deployment of Ukrainian defenders in the region at the instructions of the invaders. The offender tried to establish the exact coordinates of the headquarters of the Ukrainian troops involved in the defense of the northern borders of Ukraine. The spy was interested in locations of fortifications. He sought the place of the greatest concentration of military equipment of Ukrainian defenders and personnel.

Intelligence was needed by Russian invaders to organize sabotage and preparation of relevant artillery blows on the border of Ukraine. When performing a task in the area of ​​a possible location of one of the objects of defense forces, it was found. The 20-year-old resident of the Novgorod-Siversky community was the violator. The FSB recruited it in March 2022. Then part of the region was in temporary occupation. He received an operational nickname "Shut".

Subsequently, the offender began to study the instructions for conducting blasting and intelligence activities in favor of the invaders. After escaping the invaders from Chernihiv region, "Shut" went to "waiting mode". It was in October 2023 that his "curator" set a traitor of Ukraine new tasks. To perform them, the traitor traveled around the region and recorded a place of probable defense forces on the mobile phone camera.
