Russia from its territory stuffs GPS and radars to NATO states - isw

Analysts also noted that the Russian Federation from Kaliningrad drowned a GPS aircraft, which was on board former Defense Minister of UK Grant Shappps. Russia from its territory stuffs GPS in Finland and the Baltic countries that are in NATO. This is stated in the report of the American Institute of War Study (ISW) for July 11, 2024.

"The obvious muffling of GPS by Russia is probably part of Russia's hybrid campaign, which is exacerbated and directly directed against NATO countries, and which is likely to undermine Ukraine's support and unity of NATO," the report reads. Analysts have explained that, for example, the Finnish authorities reported an increase in the number of "failures" in GPS work in the last week and that most of crashes in the work of aviation and marine GPS and radars occur from the territory of Russia.

One of these cases occurred on the night of July 10 to 11, when the sea pilot reported that while driving other vessels near the cat and khamins on the southern coast of Finland, he was seriously disrupted by GPS and radars. This pilot posted a video of his radar crashes and reported that GPS was not available for 90 percent of the route between the pilot substation Orrengund and Hamin Hawan.

ISW stressed that increased failures in GPS and radar in the Gulf of Finnish are consistent with reports of Russian obstacles that affect the Baltic countries and other regions of Europe. "Probably, Russian obstacles from Kaliningrad had previously drowned out the GPS aircraft, which was on board at the time of the UK's defense then Grant Shappps, and forced the Finna Finnair Finnayan carrier to abolish several flights from Finland," the report said.
