In response, the Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko published detailed information on the issue on Facebook on February 9. According to Nikolenko, the aggressor country, as a member of the UN, actively uses the veto in the organization in its favor. This was especially noticeable after the invasion of Ukraine in February last year. "The abuse of the Russian Federation is the veto of flashy scale," he emphasized.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, numerous this crimes of the Russian Federation were a direct consequence of how 31 years ago Russia received membership in the UN and the status of a permanent member of the Security Council to bypass the current statute of the organization.

On December 26, last year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine made an official statement and notified the UN member states about the beginning of a systemic campaign to deprive Russia of the status of a permanent member of the Security Council. As a result, the diplomatic agency involved Ukrainian and foreign professionals, including international lawyers.

In cooperation with them, a detailed reasoned position was developed on the illegitimacy of the aggressor country in the Security Council and the UN and the need for its exclusion, Nikolenko explains. It is said that the Russian Federation "inherited" the seat of the USSR in the Security Council after the collapse of the Soviet Union without the grounds provided for by the UN Charter.

"In December 1991, the Russian delegation usurped the USSR chair without statutory grounds," Nikolenko explains the argumentation of Ukrainian diploma. As a result of Russia, the status of a permanent UN Security Council member was illegal. In violation of the statute of the organization, the Kremlin felt its impunity and began to use it openly.
