We beat records: Grain harvest in Ukraine 2023 will be better than before the war

Due to the good weather, the yield of early cereals has not only exceeded the past, but also a record 2021. However, the National Bank believes that the grain will not be the best quality. In Ukraine, agrarians have virtually completed the collection of early crops. Thus, as of the end of August, they threshed 29 million tons of grain and 4 million tons of oil. This was stated in the macroeconomic and monetary inspection of the NBU for September 2023.

Thus, against the background of favorable weather, the yield of early cereals not only exceeded the past, but also a record 2021. At the same time, the National Bank noted the negative side of the harvest in 2023. "The wet summer affected the quality of the grain," the review said. The NBU noted that the situation has improved compared to the last season and in vegetables: at the same time, the indicators of pork and raw milk production decreased.

Reducing the supply of raw materials restrained milk and meat processing. The production of flour increased seasonally, but further increase in production was constrained by a lack of quality raw materials, the NBU noted.
