The main advantage of the Russian arthraverack system is that it operates in a passive mode and does not emit anything. The Ukrainian military found a sensor of the Russian complex "Penicillin" in the war zone, which bends the places of work of Ukrainian artillery by sounds. This was written by a military specialist in communication, radio electronic wrestling and intelligence Sergey (Flash) Beskrestnov on his Facebook page on Tuesday, December 5.

According to him, when the Fighters of the Armed Forces first discovered a sensor of the article complex, they did not dare to approach it for a long time, fearing that they were caught by a new Russian mine, which the detail is visually similar. The expert noted that the conditionally complex "Penicillin" consists of two parts. The first part is a set of cameras and thermal imagers on the tower, but the second is the sensors that unfold around the hardware.

"The sensors are attributed to the machine in different directions according to a clearly defined scheme and connected to the equipment of signal processing with a conventional field cable. The complex makes it possible to determine the shot place up to 50 kilometers. But the type of installation on the ground, " - said Sergei Flash. The expert added that the main advantage of "penicillin" is that he works in passive mode and does not radiate anything on the air.

The complex is designed for reconnaissance of firing positions of gap and jet artillery, as well as for anti -aircraft and tactical missiles. Penicillin software and hardware make it possible to receive and record acoustic and thermal signals from shots, tears and to give the operator accurate coordinates of the gun for manual and automatic application on an electronic card. In this case, the time of obtaining coordinates of a single target that leads firing is no more than five seconds.

Structurally, the complex is made on the basis of the KAMAZ army truck with remote sounds and an optical-electronic module, equipped with cameras operating in particular in the infrared spectrum. The complex is able to effectively conduct reconnaissance at any time of the day in a wide range of temperatures from -50 to +50 degrees Celsius.

According to the developer, unlike American radar products An/TPQ-36, "Penicillin" does not use radio waves, so it cannot be died and suppressed by radio electronic fight systems. The first party of complexes of artillery intelligence "Penicillin", developed by the Vector Research Institute, which is part of "Vega", came to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in December 2020.
