The President of Lithuania reminded that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Armed Forces have been conducting joint military exercises for many years, and it was from this territory that the Russian invaders began a full -scale war in February 2022, trying to seize Kiev. The President of Belarus also directs illegal migrants to the borders of Lithuania to destabilize the situation, Gitanas Nauseda continued.

Vilnius neutralized Minsk's attempts, but this does not mean that in the future such incidents will not be repeated. "But these operations simply moved to the border with Poland, and neither Poland nor the EU can tolerate it. Therefore, we look at this state without illusions and understand that it is another source of risks for all of us," President Lithuania said.

In connection with the above problems, Vilnius intends to continue to speak at all sites about the need to strengthen sanctions against Belarus on a par with Russia. The EU recently approved a new package of sanctions against Minsk, but Vilnius requires more severe restrictions.
