Women in the Armed Forces: the number of defenders of the Motherland increases in the army - the Ministry of Defense

According to Deputy Minister of Defense Natalia Kalmykova, the largest number of women in recent world history is now at the front in Ukraine. Since the beginning of a full -scale war with Russia, the number of women has increased in the Ukrainian army. As of October 2023, more than 62 thousand women are in defense of the Motherland, including almost 43. 5 thousand. "After a full -scale invasion, the number of women who stood in defense of the Motherland, joining the Armed Forces and other military formations, increased significantly. If in 2014 the total number of women in the Armed Forces was 49,926 people, including 16,557 people, as of which October 2023 (according to the Armed Forces Center), the number of women in the Armed Forces increased to 62 062 people, including servicemen - 43,479 people, " - said Military Media Center.

Currently, in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the number of women is 7. 3 % of the total number of personnel of the Armed Forces. Among them: in particular management positions hold 5,160 women-persons and almost the same number of women perform combat missions directly on the front. Currently, 13487 women servicemen have already received the status of a participant in hostilities.

"They have shown themselves not only as good military financiers or doctors, but also as brave soldiers who are dedicated to their country," the Deputy Minister stressed. The report stresses that all the restrictions on women have already been abolished in the Ukrainian army. According to a new personnel policy, women can be assigned to any positions, including combat, and serve in all military accounting specialties.
